Himachal Pradesh Election 2022

A neck-and-neck election contest is taking place in Himachal Pradesh. The ruling BJP is seeking a second term under the leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while the Congress rests its hopes on the family of late visionary leader Virbhadra Singh. Though the ‘Aam Aadmi Party’ has pitched itself in the electoral battlefield, it has not unleashed a vociferous campaign with its focus on the ticket to power in Gujarat. The CPM has fielded candidates in 10 seats. However, the dissidents who pose a threat to both BJP and Congress may decide the fate of the elections this time. The current party position in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly is: BJP-44, Congress-21, CPM-1, and Others -2. There are 413 candidates in the fray. Election stats in detail.
