It's a do or die battle for the three political fronts that are fighting for power in Kerala. For the ruling Left Democratic Front, victory is a must as it's the only state in India in their kitty, while for the Congress-led United Democratic Front, which was dethroned by the Left in 2016 with a massive mandate, it's an existential issue. At the same time, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is hoping to keep the one seat – Nemom – it won in 2016 and fighting to expand its presence in the Kerala Assembly.
